BACKGROUND
An abdominal aortic aneurysm is a swelling of the aorta and the aorta is the main blood vessel that leads away from the heart, down through the abdomen to the rest of the body which regularly measures 2-3 centimeters but however it can swell to over 5.5 centimeters which after 3 centimeters is than classified as a AAA.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Can abdominal aortic aneurysms be prevented even though you meet most of the common hereditary factors?
RESEARCH QUESTION
What makes AAA’s in males with comorbidities more common and can they be modified to try and avoid them?
HYPOTHESIS
I believe with lifestyle modifications it does not matter if you meet all criteria for a AAA you can avoid having one.
THESIS STATEMENT
The purpose of this research is to find ways to avoid a AAA by lifestyle modifications, how to beome better informed in order identify earlier signs and symptoms and avoid a rupture and lastly what techniques besides major surgery can be done to control a AAA if already established.
