Scenario: The Card Game
You and a group of friends are enjoying a Saturday night card game. During the game, your rather boisterous friend Gary makes a comment that insults your friend Louann, who responds by calling Gary a sexist. Gary rejects that label and informs the group that he does not have a sexist bone in his body. Thinking about Gary’s comment in the context of your sociology course, you wonder whether Gary may have some biases about which he is not consciously aware.
