Architecture (Greece and Rome). Compare and contrast the major architectural features of Greece and Rome. Consider the Palace of Minos (Fig 4.3, 4.4, 4.5), the Mycenean citadel (Fig 4.7, 4.8, 4.9, 4.11, and 4.12), the Acropolis of Athens (Fig 5.1, chapter 5 “Closer Look”, 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, 5.10), the Roman forums, the Colosseum, the Capitoline Hill, (Rome Flickr album) and any other you find.. How does the architecture differ based on the purpose for each building complex? Give specific examples. How do the Greeks and Romans represent their civilization and culture through buildings? How is their imperial spirit reflected within their architecture, both within Rome, but also in their empire? Consider at least two Greek architectural features and at least two Roman.
